IHIT continues investigation following murder of two in Richmond

IHIT continues its investigation after a father and son were found murdered in their Richmond home.
Background:
On November 30, 2023, at approximately 10:30 p.m. the Richmond RCMP responded to a report of a suspicious circumstance at a residence in the 6200-block of Goldsmith Drive, Richmond. Upon arrival, RCMP officers located the bodies of a 46-year old man and a 13-year old boy, inside the residence. The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) has taken conduct of the investigation and continue to work closely in partnership with the Richmond RCMP, the RCMP Forensic Identification Service and the BC Coroners Service.
The two victims were father and son and both resided in the home. Although, the investigation is in very early stages, the initial evidence suggests that this was a targeted incident and the investigators are still working to determine a motive.
This incident occurred at a residence situated in the area of the Rocky View Playground and the London Sports Fields.

We are asking anyone who may have observed anything suspicious in the area of the Rocky View Playground or the adjoining pathways between 8 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. on November 30 to contact IHIT,
says Sgt. Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. Also, if you were driving or parked in the area and have dash-camera footage, please contact IHIT immediately.
