IHIT continue to investigate Sunshine Coast shooting

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is continuing its investigation into a shooting in Halfmoon Bay. 

Background:

On June 22, 2023 at 3:38 a.m., the Sunshine Coast RCMP were called to the 8000-block of Birch Way, Halfmoon Bay, after a report of a shooting. Frontline officers attended and located a man suffering from gunshot wounds outside a residence. Despite the efforts of first responders, the victim succumbed to his injuries. Two suspects were identified at scene and taken into custody. IHIT took conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely in partnership with the Sunshine Coast RCMP Detachment, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS). 

IHIT is now identifying the victim as 56-year old Gregory Roy Sullivan, of Sechelt, in hopes of advancing its investigation. 

We are still in the evidence gathering stages of the investigation, says Sergeant Timothy Pierotti of IHIT. We’re asking anyone who had recent interactions with Mr. Sullivan to contact IHIT, as we build a timeline of events leading up to this tragedy.
