The family of victim Manbir Mani
Amar share memories while the Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) continue to investigate Wednesday’s incident.
Background:
On August 31, 2022, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of a physical altercation between two neighbours in the 14100-block of 61 Avenue, Surrey. Officers attended the scene and located Manbir Mani
Amar suffering life-threatening injuries. Sadly, Mr. Amar died on scene. IHIT took conduct of the investigation and continues to work closely in partnership with the Surrey RCMP, BC Coroners Service and the Integrated Forensic Identification Section (IFIS).
A man was arrested on scene. At this time, no charges have been laid and the man has been released from custody as the investigation continues.
The family of Mr. Amar is sharing memories of their lost family member. Mani was a devoted father, brother, son and friend. A talented individual who devoted his life to activism and the arts,
says Gurbinder Amar, brother of Mani. Through poetry, prose, philosophy, painting, photography and filmmaking, Mani touched the lives of many individuals. He will be deeply missed,
