Kitimat RCMP weekly report September 21st to September 27th 2022

Theft of truck:

The Kitimat RCMP received a complaint of a vehicle theft on September 21st, 2023. It was reported that overnight, a White Ford F-150 has been stolen from a Hunter Creek work camp. The vehicle was located a few days later, heavily damaged. The investigation is continuing to identify a suspect for the theft. (2023-3639)

Assault:

On September 21st, 2023, the Kitimat RCMP responded to a report of an assault that occurred near the intersection of Nalibila Blvd and Kingfisher Blvd, Kitmat BC. It appeared that a verbal argument ended up getting physical. A suspect for the assault was arrested and released on an undertaking with conditions for an upcoming court date. (2023-3643)

Shoplifting:

A report of a shoplifter was called into the Kitimat RCMP on September 22nd. A business, located on the 200 block of City Center, contacted the Kitimat RCMP to report a suspect had entered and left with products, failing to pay for the items. The file is still under investigation; however, a suspect has been identified. (2023-3662)

Cause a disturbance:

During a routine patrol along Kingfisher Blvd in Kitimat BC, late in the evening on September 22nd, a Kitmat RCMP officer was flagged over by a pedestrian who pointed out another pedestrian that had commented about someone laying on the roadway. The officer went over and spoke to the second pedestrian, how was found to be extremely intoxicated. The male was arrested for causing a disturbance by being drunk in public and lodged in to the Kitimat RCMP cells, being released once sober without charge. Extensive patrols were conduced and no other persons were located on the area. (2023-3665)

Theft of bag:

A theft of a bag was reported to the Kitimat RCMP during the early morning hours of September 23, 2023. An employee of a business located on the 800 block of Tsimshian Blvd contacted the Kitimat RCMP on behalf of a patron. The investigation was able to identify a suspect, who was located later in the day. It was found that the suspect had returned the bag earlier in the day. The victim confirmed the bag was returned with all the contents. (2023-3666)

Congregating youth:

The Kitimat RCMP received a report of a group of youths that were hanging out on the 1400 block of Kingfisher Blvd, during the early morning hours of September 24th. Kitimat RCMP officers attended and located the group. The group apologized for causing any issues and left the area. (2032-3673)

Insecure business:

A business alarm was reported to the Kitmat RCMP on September 24th, 2023. Kitimat RCMP officers attended the business located on the 200 block of City Center and found that a door was unlocked. The business was found to have no one in it, and nothing appeared to be disturbed. A property representative attended and confirmed that a door may have been left unlocked, but nothing was missing or damaged. (2023-3678)

Break and enter/theft:

On September 26th, 2023, the Kitimat RCMP received a report of a break and enter and theft from a Wedeene Street residence. It was reported that overnight, an unknown person had entered the residence and stolen a wallet. Further information was provided that the unknown person had used a credit card at various places around town. The following investigation revealed an identifiable suspect who was located and arrested. The suspect was released on an appearance notice to attend court on a future date. (2023-3713)
