On Wednesday, August 30, 2023, the New Hazelton RCMP responded to a report of a break and enter at a property in the community. The property, in an isolated area, has been vacant and for sale.
The house has video surveillance and two women are seen taking property from the house. During the course of the investigation, police have obtained evidence that suggests one woman may have fabricated an identity from items removed from the house. This woman attempted to make a purchase at a local store with a credit card that was declined. Identification provided was photo only and any name was obscured on the identification.
RCMP hope the public can help identify this woman.
If you recognize her, or have any information about the break and enter or possible identity theft, contact the New Hazelton RCMP at (250) 842-5244.
