Shoplifting compliant:

A report of a shoplifter at a business located on the 500 block of Mountain View Square, Kitimat BC was received by the Kitimat RCMP on March 2nd. A description of a male was provided, who was located a short time later. The male was arrested and released with an upcoming court date to answer to the charge of theft under $5000.

Hit and run:

The Kitimat RCMP were advised of a hit and run on March 4th. It was reported that a vehicle had been parked at a business located on the 100 block of City Centre. When the owner of the vehicle came out at approximately 11:00 am, they noticed damage to their vehicle. The Kitimat RCMP officer is continuing the investigation, and checking for possible CCTV in the area.

Attempted robbery:

During the evening hours of March 4th, the Kitimat RMCP was alerted to an attempted robbery that occurred in the 200 black of City Centre, Kitimat BC. The victim was not injured and was able to provide a good description of the suspect, who was located a short distance away. The suspect was arrested, found to be breaching their probation, and held in custody until a future court date to answer to the charges of Robbery and disguise with intent.

Mischief to grader:

A report of damage to a grader that was parked on Alcan Road, Kitimat BC was received by the Kitimat RCMP on March 6th. The grader had damage done to two windows and six tires, sometime between March 5th and March 6th. The investigation is continuing with the assistance of the Forensic Identification Services.

Driving complaint:

A vehicle was reported to be driving erratically along Columbia Ave, in Kitimat BC on March 6th. An officer with the Kitimat RCMP attended the area to investigate and located the vehicle. It was found the vehicle had incorrect number plates attached, was no longer insured, had failed to comply with a notice and order and had several unsafe defects. The owner was issued a violation ticket for failing to comply with a notice and order and wrong number plate. The vehicle was towed off of the roadway.

Fail to comply:

While on patrol on March 7th, in the Kitimat area, a Kitimat RCMP officer noted a vehicle that they had dealt with in the past, when the owner of the vehicle was issued a notice and order to have defects repaired. The vehicle had not been repaired in the allotted time, as such the owner received a violation ticket for failing to comply with a notice and order and received another notice and order to have the vehicle inspected by a qualified motor vehicle inspector.
