The Merritt RCMP is seeking witnesses and dash camera footage from a hit an run that occurred the afternoon of November 26th in a parking lot near Aberdeen Road.

On November 26, 2022, shortly after 4:00pm the Merritt RCMP were called to the parking lot outside of the Aberdeen Cold Beer and Wine Store as a 72 year pedestrian was hit by a truck in the parking lot. The truck did not remain on scene. The 72 year old pedestrian sustained non life threatening injuries and was taken to the Nicola Valley Hospital for assessment.

"We are seeking the public's assistance to identify the truck and driver", says Cst. Nicholas Maciejewski. "It is possible the driver was unaware they struck the pedestrian and we are asking them to do the right thing and contact us".

Video surveillance still with a grey van and half of a white 4 door truck in the photograph.

The truck is described as a 4 door, white pick up truck, which can be seen above at the top of the photograph.

If you have dash camera footage from the area on November 26, 2022, around 4:00pm or if you witnessed the incident and have not yet spoken to police, please call the Merritt RCMP at 250-378-4262.
