The holiday season is about to descend upon us all as well as a fresh blanket of snow and that means that it's time for charities to start working their Christmas magic to try and help those less fortunate.

For the third year in a row, Campbell River's emergency services personnel are hosting a Charity Checkstop event to support the Knights of Columbus Christmas hamper program.

Members of Campbell River's RCMP, Fire Department, BC Ambulance Services, and BC Sheriffs service will be on hand at the Home Hardware Parking lot at 1270 Dogwood Street on December 3rd, 2022 from 12pm until 4pm to accept donations on behalf of the Knight's of Columbus.

It's a drive thru event and the charity is looking for donations of unwrapped toys, non-perishable food and cash in order to fill the hampers for as many needy homes as they possibly can this year.

Our first two years were a great success and it's great to see the community support, said Cst Maury Tyre. We look forward to helping out again this year and hopefully for many more years to come.
