On April 13 and 15, 2022 North Cowichan RCMP received 2 separate reports of a suspicious male driver in a blue older model sedan in the Crofton area, BC.

On April 13, at around 4:00 p.m., a male driver approached a 10-year-old girl at the corner of Chaplin St and Elizabeth St in Crofton and told her he was there to pick her up on behalf of her mother. The 10-year-old girl ran away and reported the incident to an adult.

On April 15, at around 12:30 p.m., a 14-year-old girl reported that a man in a blue older model sedan saw her and did a U-turn towards her direction at Queen St and Brook St in Crofton. No contact was made during this incident. The male was described as an elderly Caucasian man, possibly wearing dark or black clothing and a ball cap.

Investigators are requesting assistance from the public to report any previous of future suspicious incidents of a similar nature, says Cst. Kristine Roesler of the North Cowichan/Duncan RCMP. If anyone in the Crofton area has video on April 13 or 15 which shows a blue older model sedan in the area is asked to contact North Cowichan RCMP Detachment at 250-748-5522 or provide their information to Cowichan Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
