The Penticton RCMP is investigating an incident that occurred on February 1, 2025, in the 1700-block of Main Street.

Just before 10:00 am, an altercation between two individuals took place in the middle of the street, resulting in one man being transported to the hospital with serious injuries. After a multi member response to the area, a 28-year-old male was located nearby and subsequently arrested in connection with the incident, who remains in police custody. The male has been charged with aggravated assault and is scheduled to appear in court on February 3, 2025.

Police have determined that this was a targeted incident, and there is no threat to public safety at this time.

Investigators are asking anyone who may have witnessed the altercation or that has dash cam footage from the area around the time of the incident to contact the Penticton RCMP at 250-492-4300 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) and reference file number 2025-1483.

To protect the integrity of the investigation no further details will be released.
