Cows damaging property
2024-2351
On October 23, 2024 a caller in Lytton reported cows were damaging her property, she expressed concerns that the owners were allowing their animals to run free despite being on a Pound District
. The RCMP livestock section was consulted on the matter and advised they were already engaged in the matter. The matter is still being looked in to.
Checkstop program
2024-2377
On October 27, 2024 Lillooet RCMP and Stl’atl’imx Tribal Police conducted a vehicle check stop on Hwy 99 near Fountain Valley checking for valid drivers licenses, insurance, and driver sobriety. Approximately 80 vehicles were checked. Multiple verbal warnings were given for minor traffic offences, one driver was given an immediate roadside prohibition for 3 days from driving based on the alcohol in their system.
Theft of vehicle
2024-2382
On October 28, 2024 at 1:41 pm a caller reported his grey 2022 Ford F150 was stolen from the Cayoosh brake check point on Hwy 99 while he had stepped out to take pictures for a moment. Someone from the vehicle behind him jumped into his truck and sped away northbound. The following day the vehicle was located by Merritt RCMP after it was suspiciously parked in a neighbourhood in Merritt. The vehicle was not suitable for a forensic examination. The owner of the vehicle was notified.
Theft
2024-2407
On October 31, 2024 a caller reported he lost jewelry in September from his vehicle, he was backtracking what had happened. He believed the jewelry was likely stolen from his vehicle (left unlocked) while in Lillooet in September. The jewelry was described as being white opals/gems inside a leather pouch with a braided cord inside a case. Further information is yet to be obtained from the owner. If anyone has observed any suspicious sales or offerings of such items, they are asked to contact the Lillooet RCMP and reference file 2024-2407.
Suspicious Occurrence
2024-2423
On November 1, 2024 a caller reported someone was inside her residence (located in the Marble Canyon area). She was out of town and no one was supposed to be there, she was alerted by security cameras. Lillooet RCMP and Stl’atl’imx Tribal Police attended. The residence was secure and no one was around. The owner was spoken to by police, he had advised he was checking the residence (on behalf of the residents who were out of town) and it was him outside the residence when the call for service was placed. There were no further concerns.
ATV collision
2024-2419
On November 1, 2024 a call was received to assist BC Ambulance Service (BCAS) in Lytton with a single ATV collision with injuries on Spencer Road North in Lytton. The ATV was not on scene upon police arrival, police were advised someone had taken it but no name was provided to police. By standards had little information to provide police. One man was taken to the hospital by BCAS. There was insufficient evidence to determine the operator of the ATV/for a further Criminal Code investigation.
Check well being
2024-2452
On November 6, 2024 a caller reported her husband had plans to hunt in the Lillooet area and was to take the Big Bar Ferry on his way home to Kamloops; however, he did not arrive when expected. Shortly after she called back advising her husband had returned back in to cell service and updated her. He was on his way home; the Big Bar Ferry was closed for the night which drastically lengthened his drive home. There were no further concerns.
