Search warrant yields guns and drug seizure

The Cariboo-Chilcotin Crime Reduction Unit (CC-CRU) spent some investigational time in Bella Coola that resulted in the execution search warrants.

The CC-CRU is a regional crime reduction unit and conducted joint enforcement actions targeting the criminal element in Bella Coola.

Between June 5-7, 2024 two local men were in a vehicle on the 4 Mile Reserve and found to be in possession of firearms, including a prohibited sawed-off shotgun, and a substantial amount of suspected methamphetamine and cocaine.

Both adult men were released and could faces charges as this investigation continues.

This is a significant seizure removed from Bella Coola and police thank the community for their support.
