Female serving remainder of her two year sentence in jail

In November of 2022, 34-year-old Robyn Poznikoff was found guilty of two counts for the possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act as well as possession of an unauthorized weapon contrary to section 91(2) of the Criminal Code. The charges were a result of a 2020 Castlegar RCMP investigation which included a search warrant to a residence associated to Ms. Poznikoff where police seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, Canadian currency, a conducted energy weapon, a firearm and a vehicle which was later forfeited through the British Columbia Civil Forfeiture Office.

On July 19, 2023, the courts sentenced Ms. Poznikoff in regard to the 2020 police investigation. Ms. Poznikoff avoided a jail sentence however was ordered to serve a two year conditional sentence order which was to be served in her residence with a period of probation to follow and a firearm prohibition for 10 years.

Just over three months into serving her two year conditional sentence, Ms. Poznikoff was again arrested for allegedly trafficking illicit drugs.

On October 25, 2023, the Castlegar Crime Reduction Unit, with support from frontline general duty officers, executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 5200 block of Broadwater Road in Robson, BC. The search warrant was obtained to further investigate the trafficking of drugs and investigators seized suspected cocaine, methamphetamine, currency, a vehicle, and other items consistent with the trafficking of illicit drugs. Ms. Poznikoff had been held in custody since her October 25, 2023 arrest. She was brought before the courts in regard to breaching conditions attached to her Conditional Sentence Order where the Supreme Court Justice revoked the Conditional Sentence Order directing Ms. Poznikoff to serve the remainder of her two year sentence in jail.

In relation to the October 25, 2023 search warrant, Ms. Poznikoff has been formally charged with two counts of possession of a controlled substance for the purposes of trafficking contrary to section 5(2) of the Controlled Drugs and Substances Act. Her next appearance in relation to these new charges is March 6, 2024.
