File # 2023-549

On Saturday, June 3, 2023 at 11:24 am, Masset RCMP were called to a residence on Raven Avenue for a disturbance and the people involved were known to each other.

When police arrived, they quickly learned that an assault had taken place and that one person required medical treatment. Police saw that a window at the home was broken and noted other damage to the house.

The suspect, an adult man, had gone to next door however when police looked for the man, he was not immediately located.

Later, police received a call stating that the suspect had returned and was seen going to a nearby residence. Police attended the house and after obtaining a warrant attempted to enter the home and arrest the suspect.

The suspect, armed with a firearm, would not listen to police direction. Police remained on scene outside of the home trying to talk the man out of the residence. After several hours the man came out and was arrested without further incident. He was later released with a court date of August 18, 2023.

The suspect is facing numerous charges including assault, mischief, careless use of a firearm and fail to comply with probation. The investigation remains active.
