RCMP on scene of a vehicle fire

On Tuesday, March 19, 2024 at 4:03m am, Williams Lake RCMP responded to a report of a vehicle fire on Gibraltar Mines Road in McLeese lake, BC

The vehicle involved is a single tank truck hauling explosive material. The vehicle was fully engulphed in flames. As a result, the Explosive Disposal Unit (EDU) was contacted and a 1.6-kilometer radius was established.

The vehicle is no longer on fire; however, investigators are unable to get to the area for scene examination at this time. More details may be released as they become available. There is no further information available at this time.
