On May 21 2024, at approximately 3:08 p.m. West Shore RCMP responded to a report of a woman who appeared to be unconscious in the driver’s seat of a car parked near the 2800 block of West Shore Parkway in Langford.

Officers attended the scene to check on the well being of the woman and observed drug paraphernalia inside the vehicle. Police checks also revealed the vehicle, a 2001 Toyota Corolla, was reported as stolen from Victoria on May 4.

The 29-year-old female suspect was awoken and arrested for possession of a controlled substance and 2 counts of possession of stolen property as police determined both the vehicle and licence plate attached were stolen.

The suspect was also issued violation tickets for no diver’s licence, no insurance and given a 24-hr prohibition from driving for exhibiting symptoms of drug impairment while being in the care and control of a vehicle. She was later released from police custody by way of an Appearance Notice regarding the above criminal offences for which charges are expected to be forthcoming.
