Yesterday we were honoured to be a part of the festivities celebrating National Indigenous Peoples Day on June 21.

West Shore RCMP officers and Municipal Staff participated in the Canoe Landing Protocol and race at Royal Roads University with our 35 ft Pacific Dancer Canoe named TL’Ches Spirit. The TL’Ches Spirit boasts traditional Indigenous artwork and is used by the West Shore RCMP Indigenous Policing Unit for community and cultural events.

West Shore RCMP live, work, and play on the Traditional Territories of the Lekwungen speaking people, the Songhees and Esquimalt First Nations. Thank you for letting us be apart of this wonderful celebration.
