Sunshine Coast RCMP are excited to embark on a new initiative aimed at breaking down barriers between police officers and the citizens they serve.
You may have already heard of other communities who have organized "Coffee with a Cop" which was originally launched in California in 2011 with great success. Their goal was to open the door for interactions outside of crisis situation, to improve trust and build relationships.
Corporal Philip Atoui says "we hope that this will bring police officers and the community members they serve together to discuss issues and learn more about each other in a relaxed setting over tea or coffee".
Come and join us at our first Tea Time on Wednesday December 14th from 10- 11 am at the Daily Roast coffee shop located at 5580 Wharf Avenue in Sechelt. We look forward to chatting with you.
