On October 12, 2022 at approximately 6:30 pm, police responded to a report of shots fired in the area of North Road between Bridgeman Road and Chamberlin Road in Gibsons, BC.
Witnesses reported a male had fired off several rounds of a firearm. Police exhausted attempts to engage the male on his property, but he would not respond. Police set up containment in the area and with assistance from the Lower Mainland Emergency Response Team, the suspect was taken into custody at his residence without incident.
Residents and local traffic in the area had been diverted for several hours as a cautionary measure. A 60 year old local male could be facing multiple firearm offences pending completion of the police investigation.
