Maple Ridge B.C. – The Specialized Response Team (SRT) is made up of experienced officers with in-depth knowledge of the community.

SRT is being led by Sergeant Crystal Heisler, who is in her twenty fifth year of policing. Sergeant Heisler has extensive knowledge in proactive policing techniques with experience in drug and street level crime enforcement, serious crime investigations and intelligence gathering.

The police officers selected for this team were strategically chosen because of their experience and proactive approach to Policing. These officers have experience in dealing with prolific offenders, and have already successfully arrested two men with a staggering 16 warrants combined.

"These officers will be able to create their own opportunities to be in the right place at the right time". States Sergeant Heisler.

SRT will be strategically deploying and utilizing criminal intelligence in high visibility foot patrols, marked police vehicles, and bikes in response to community criminal issues. The officers will be identifying emerging criminality specifically affecting neighborhoods in Maple Ridge.

"While a majority of the team’s work will be highly visible in the community, they also have the ability to complete covert projects when required based on criminality and community priorities." States Staff Sergeant Grimmer (plain clothes commander).
