Richmond RCMP investigating attempted robbery

Shortly before 4 p.m. on November 14, 2023, frontline Richmond RCMP responded to a two-vehicle collision in the 7000 block of Alderbridge Way involving a light-coloured Audi SUV and a dark-coloured Hyundai SUV.

The occupants of the Audi comprised of a man, 43, a woman, 69, and two children.

The occupants of the Hyundai comprised of 3 men ages 33, 20, and 42 respectively.

It is alleged that the occupants of the Hyundai attempted to rob the occupants of the Audi near Westminster Highway and Garden City Road but the Audi fled once two men clad in black wearing masks tried to approach. All the occupants of the Hyundai were known to police and arrested. A large sum of Canadian currency was recovered by police. Fortunately, no one was injured.

The Richmond RCMP is aware of a dash cam video of this incident in which the timestamp may be inaccurate.

The Richmond RCMP General Investigation Section has taken conduct of this investigation. Our investigation is active and ongoing.
