Officers from the Langley RCMP ramped up traffic enforcement after numerous complaints were received from residents relating to speeding vehicles in their communities.

Between December 15, 2024 to January 6, 2025, a total of 120 speeding tickets were handed out to drivers who were caught speeding in both the City of Langley and the Township of Langley.

Statistics collected during this time period reveals the following:

On January 7, 2025, two drivers were caught travelling 112 KM/HR in a 50 KM/HR zone. Both drivers were served excessive speed violation tickets and had their respective vehicles impounded for 7 days.

We all have a role to play when to comes to making our roads and communities safer, so please slow down and drive responsibly. Remember, road safety is life safety, says Sgt. Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP.

If you see drivers operating a motor vehicle in a dangerous manner, please contact your local police to make a report.
