27 charges approved against 44-year-old man following multiple break and enters to homes under construction

27 charges have been approved against a 44-year-old man after a months-long investigation into multiple break and enters targeting high end homes under construction which occurred between September 2022 and February 2023.

In March 2023, after search warrants were executed at three properties and a suspect was arrested, police asked for public assistance in returning hundreds of thousands of dollars worth of stolen items to their rightful owners.

On January 30, 2024, 27 charges were approved against 44-year-old Chad Russell Hubick.

Hubick now faces the following charges:

Following the March 2023 appeal to the public, police were able to return approximately 30 per cent of the stolen items to their rightful owners.

This was a dynamic investigation involving several locations and a huge volume of stolen goods. Burnaby RCMP’s Strike Force Unit has worked diligently to secure these 27 charges and to reunite many stolen and valuable items to victims targeted in these thefts, said Corporal Mike Kalanj with the Burnaby RCMP.

The file is now before the courts.
