Mounties investigating rural shooting incident

Shortly after 1:00 a.m. on January 12, 2024, Prince George RCMP was advised of a shooting incident that occurred at a residence on the 3200-block of Torpy Road.

Police officers, including the Emergency Response Team, are currently at that location as we continue to collect evidence in this investigation. Our initial findings indicate this was likely a targeted event and there is no increased risk to the general public. If anyone in the neighbourhood witnessed the event or saw something suspicious we ask that they please contact the Prince George RCMP to speak with police, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Investigators will be out on Torpy Road for the bulk of the day as they continue with the investigation. A victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
