Prince George RCMP investigating weekend shooting

On Sunday, July 23, 2023, just after 10:30 a.m., Prince George RCMP responded to a report of shots fired at a residence on the 6200-block of Lalonde Road.

When police officers arrived at the location they located one woman with serious injuries and one man with superficial injuries at the home. The female was taken to the hospital by Emergency Health Services.

Surveillance obtained from the neighbourhood shows a dark-coloured, extended cab pickup leaving the residence at the time of the incident. Police are now looking to speak with anyone in the area who witnessed those coming and going from the home, or who has surveillance or dash camera footage from that neighbourhood between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. on July 23.

This is the third violent incident in a week in our City. Police officers are working diligently to identify those who are responsible for these crimes and are asking the public to call the non-emergency line or Northern B.C. Crime Stoppers with any information that will help forward these investigations, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Investigators believe this to be a targeted incident with no increased risk to the public.

The investigation remains ongoing.
