Just before 5:00 a.m. on May 5, 2022, Prince George RCMP received a report of a break-and-enter to a car dealership on the 2800-block of Highway 16 West.

The suspect was arrested for the break-and-enter. After his arrest, police found some items with him that belonged to the business where the break-in occurred. The suspect attended the hospital for treatment of his injuries, and was released from police custody on an Undertaking with a future court date, says Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media spokesperson for the Prince George RCMP.

Police had attended this business once before on the same date, around 1:00 a.m., for a report of a car on fire. In that incident, police located one vehicle on fire and one vehicle broken into. Investigators are working to determine if there is a connection between the two incidents.

Investigators are looking for anyone who witnessed anything suspicious or has dash cam footage in the area of the break-and-enter, from May 4 at 12:30 a.m. to May 5 at 1:00 a.m. or from May 5 between 4:30 a.m. and 5:00 a.m. Please call the non-emergency line at 250-561-3300 to speak with police. Quote file number 2022-15395 or 2022-15406.

Both investigations remain ongoing.
