Update: Recent homicides point to increasing gang violence

Two known offenders, connected to the local drug trade, arrested within the last two days in Prince George.

In a response to the recent gang conflict, Prince George RCMP’s Street Crew Unit has worked diligently to target those individuals involved in the local drug trade, in an attempt to disrupt and mitigate further violent occurrences.

On March 29, 2022, Street Crew Unit members located a man known to have outstanding warrants and local gang affiliations. After attempting to evade police by ramming a police vehicle, 31-year-old Prince George resident Colin Michaud Durrand was arrested without further incident. Investigators found Mr. Durrand in possession of both body armour and a loaded high-caliber rifle with high capacity magazines.

The B.C. Prosecution Service has approved the following charges against Mr. Durrand:

In the late hours of March 30, 2022, Street Crew Unit members located another man known to be involved in the criminal subculture of Prince George. Police arrested the man, identified as 34-year-old Prince George resident Sebastian Goudreau, for breaching his court ordered conditions. Mr. Goudreau was found in possession of two loaded, restricted weapons, body armour, cash and a large quantity of suspected fentanyl. He was held for court today.

The back-to-back arrests of these two known offenders, with direct ties to the drug trade in Prince George, showcases the dedication and commitment by our Street Crew Unit and fellow officers in locating these known offenders and disrupting this recent violent criminal trend, states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, media relations officer for the Prince George RCMP.

Police are encouraging the public to remain vigilante to ongoing suspicious activities in their neighbourhood, as the public warning against the ongoing gang conflict in Prince George has not lessened, despite the arrests of two key players in the drug scene.
