Guns, drugs and cash seized

On Wednesday, February 21, 2024 the New Hazelton RCMP, along with Emergency Response Teams (ERT) from BC and the Yukon, along with Police Dog Service (PDS) and RCMP members from neighbouring detachments, executed search warrants on three properties in South Hazelton, BC.

During the search, police located and seized a loaded short barrel shot gun, a 30-06 rifle, a handgun, a flare gun loaded with a 12-gauge shotgun round, $5000 cash, multiple cell phones, packaging materials, suspected fentanyl, methamphetamine, cocaine, crack cocaine and over 400
prescription Dilaudid and Morphine pills.

Several people were arrested on scene and could face multiple charges including drug trafficking and weapons offences.

We continue to focus enforcement in our ongoing efforts to help stop the toxic drug supply plaguing the area, said A/Cpl. Blain Vandewetering, New Hazelton RCMP.
