Surrey RCMP Investigate shots fired in Guildford

Surrey RCMP is currently on scene in the Guildford area of Surrey for a report of shots being fired.

At approximately 5:50 p.m. on July 5th, 2023, Surrey RCMP responded to a report of shots fired in the 15800-block of 80 Avenue. Initial reports indicate that a group of males shot at another group of males. The apparent victim fled the scene in a vehicle which was located in the 14800-block of Fraser Highway. The victim was determined to have a non-life threatening gunshot wound, and has been transported to a local area hospital.

Officers are conducting neighborhood canvassing and speaking with witnesses to obtain further information. The investigation is still in its early stages, but Surrey RCMP is currently of the belief that the two groups of males were known to each other, and the shooting is targeted. The victim is well-known to police, and is believed to be involved in the drug trade.
