Richmond RCMP and IHIT investigating fatal shooting

On July 27, 2023 at 5:45 p.m., frontline Richmond RCMP responded to the 8000-block of Minler Road to reports of a shooting. A critically injured man was located by police. First responders attempted life-saving measures, but the victim was pronounced deceased on scene. The area has been cordoned off as police investigate.

Approximately 10 minutes later, a vehicle was found fully engulfed in flames in the 12000-block of Blundell Road. Police are working to determine if this vehicle is associated to the shooting.

If anyone was in the area of the 8000-block of Minler Road or the 12000-block of Blundell Road between 5 p.m. and 6 p.m., they are asked to contact police.

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team has assumed conduct of the investigation. Further details and media availability will be provided by the IHIT Media Relations Officer.
