Police investigating train collision downtown

A Kamloops man in his 30s was located deceased after police were called to a train collision near Victoria Street West last night.

On Oct. 2, 2022, around 10:05 p.m., frontline officers attended the tracks between 1st Avenue and Overlander Bridge for a report of a pedestrian struck by a train. Kamloops RCMP, The BC Coroner’s Service, and the Canadian Pacific Railway Police are investigating.

Part of our investigation into any sudden death includes talking to people who may have information regarding the victim and his recent movements, said Corporal Crystal Evelyn, Kamloops RCMP spokesperson. If anyone has dash camera or surveillance footage in the area of the railway tracks that night before police attended, please contact us as soon as possible.
