Man arrested for sexual assault

On Sunday November 15, 2020, the Prince George RCMP received a report of a sexual assault that occurred in Connaught Hill Park, off Patricia Boulevard in Prince George.

The scene was secured and evidence gathered. An adult male suspect was located and arrested a short time after the report was made.

The BC Prosecution Service has approved the following Criminal Code charges against 37-year-old Ryan Kenneth McLane of Prince George:

• Sexual assault
• Assault by choking
• Assault with a weapon
• Possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose (2 counts)
• Utter threats to cause bodily harm
• Theft $5000 or Under

This violent attack is not believed to be a random. McLane and the victim are known to each other. McLane was held in custody and will appear in court later today.
