Langley RCMP investigate an assault at Langley Memorial Hospital

On March 8, 2025 at approximately 12:15 am, Langley RCMP responded to a report of an assault in progress at the Langley Memorial Hospital.

Officers arrived and located hospital security who were engaging with an alleged suspect that had physically assaulted a nurse and had produced an edged weapon. A 37-year old man from Surrey was arrested for assault and assault with a weapon. The suspect has been released from Police custody to appear in court at a later date.

It’s deeply concerning, not only for the community but also for hospital staff who are simply doing their best to provide health care to everyone, said Sergeant Zynal Sharoom of the Langley RCMP. No individuals were injured as a result of this incident.
