Police looking to identify Christmas Day car-jacking suspect

Prince George RCMP is asking for the public’s help in identifying a car-jacking suspect from an incident that occurred on December 25, 2024, just after 11:00 p.m., when the passenger in a taxi brandished a knife at the driver and demanded to be driven out of province.
The taxi driver stopped in front of the airport and got out of the vehicle. The suspect then got into the driver’s seat and drove away from the airport in the taxi. Thankfully, the driver of the taxi was unharmed in the incident,
states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The taxi was located crashed into the ditch a short time later, however, the suspect had already fled the scene.
Investigators are looking to speak with any witnesses to the incident or to anyone that may have dash camera footage of the orange taxi arriving or leaving the airport. Please contact the Prince George RCMP’s non-emergency line at 250-561-3300.
