IHIT continues to seek witnesses in relation to Langley homicide

The Integrated Homicide Investigation Team (IHIT) is identifying the victim of a homicide in Langley from September 2023.
Background:
On September 22, 2023, the Langley City Fire Rescue Service attended Nicomekl Park located at 5281 208th Street, Langley for a report of a bush fire. Upon attendance by first responders and Langley RCMP officers, human remains were located and the death was deemed suspicious. IHIT was deployed at the onset and took conduct of the investigation.
Update:
Since then, IHIT has pursued a number of investigative avenues to determine the circumstances surrounding the death and the investigation has been ongoing. In order to further the investigation, IHIT is now identifying the victim as Michael Kashani of Langley.
"Mr. Kashani was 36 years old at the time and his death has left a void in his family and community, says Sgt. Freda Fong of IHIT. We believe someone out there may have information about Mr. Kashani’s death and we are interested in speaking with them.
