New Detachment Commander named

The Prince George RCMP are pleased to be welcoming a new officer in charge of the Detachment.
On Wednesday October 2nd, Inspector Darin Rappel was promoted to the rank of Superintendent as the new officer in charge of the City of Prince George Municipal Detachment. The City of Prince George was an integral part of the interviewing of candidates and selection of the new officer in charge.
Superintendent Rappel has been the Officer in Charge of Plain Clothes Services at Prince George Detachment since early 2017. He has 23 years of service with the RCMP, with the majority being in the north.
His first post with the RCMP was to the City of Williams Lake, where he gained experience in small town policing. He was then posted to the Kamloops Detachment and worked in Serious Crime, Property Crime, and in the Professional Responsibility Unit, before his transfer to Prince George.

Superintendent Rappel and his wife are well settled in Prince George and are looking forward to continuing to build their lives in this community.

The previous officer in charge, Superintendent Shaun Wright has retired from the RCMP.
