Update: Two seats located, bike still outstanding

Surrey RCMP is advising the public that two seats from the custom bicycle which was stolen on September 18, 2024 has been recovered. The bicycle remains outstanding.

On September 17, 2024 Surrey RCMP Youth Unit responded to a report of a bike stolen in the 8800-block of 162 Street (See Previous release- Surrey RCMP - Custom-made bike for a child with complex health needs stolen (rcmp-grc.gc.ca).

On September 20, a good Samaritan found the two bike seats left on a trail in the area of 16000-block of 95A Avenue and called police after having seen the story featured on the news. The electric bike is still outstanding and investigation is ongoing to locate the bike.

We are extremely grateful to this good Samaritan who found the two seats and returned it to the police, says Cpl. Sarbjit K. Sangha, Media Relations Officer for the Surrey RCMP. We are asking the community to continue looking out for this specific bicycle.

The bike seats will be returned to the family in the coming days. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Surrey RCMP at 604-599-0502 and quote file 2024-139199.
