Seeking witnesses or dash cam footage for collision resulting in serious injuries to one driver

On August 26, 2024 at 10:30 p.m. a Richmond RCMP Frontline officer came upon a two-vehicle collision in the intersection of Westminster Hwy and McCallan Rd.

According to a witness, he was driving Westbound on Westminster Hwy when a blue Honda Accord drove past him at a high rate of speed. The witness then observed the Accord strike a Blue Mazda 3 which was making a left-hand turn onto McCallan Rd.

As a result of the impact, both vehicles left the roadway and came to rest in the front yards of two residences.

Both drivers were transported to local area hospitals for treatment. One driver remains in hospital with significant injuries.

One driver was arrested and released on a Police Undertaking.

Speed and impairment are considered factors in this collision.

Richmond Criminal Collision Investigation Team have conduct of this active and ongoing investigation.
