File # 2024-29302, 2024-29393, 2024-29408, 2024-29544
Between Monday, September 2, 2024 and Wednesday, September 4, 2024, Prince George RCMP received multiple reports of break-and-enters to buildings and vehicles in the downtown area. The Downtown Safety Unit and Problem Oriented Policing Team quickly began to investigate these incidents.
The suspect, identified as 43-year-old Prince George resident Allan Douglas Nigh, was arrested on September 5, 2024 and held for court.
The key to tying these investigations together was the video surveillance that was quickly made available to our investigators. All of the incidents occurred in the very early hours of the morning, when there are no witnesses around. When businesses and residents can have video surveillance to our investigators within hours of an event occurring, it greatly increases the chances of us identifying and locating a suspect,
states Cpl. Jennifer Cooper, Media Relations Officer for the Prince George RCMP.
The following charges have been approved in these investigations:
- Break and enter with intent to commit an indictable offense x3
- Mischief under $5000 x3
Mr. Nigh is well-known to police for similar offenses. He will remain in custody until his next court appearance.
These files remain under investigation.
