Man charged with multiple offences after arrest in Whalley

The individual who was arrested on August 21, 2024 after allegedly ramming a police vehicle has been charged with multiple offences and has been remanded until his next court appearance.
On August 21, 2024 at approximately 1:54 pm, Surrey RCMP received a report of a suspicious vehicle in the area of 146 Street and 108 Avenue. When officers arrived on scene, they located the suspect vehicle, a blue Ford Explorer SUV. While officers attempted to make contact with the driver, the SUV allegedly rammed the police vehicle. On August 22, 2024, the accused was brought before a Justice of the Peace. The accused, 35-year-old Ryan Molnar, has been charged with the following offences and has remanded in custody until August 26, 2024:
- Assault police officer with a weapon (motor vehicle)
- Fail to stop for police while being pursued
- Operate a motor vehicle in a manner that was dangerous to public
- Possession of ammunition while prohibited
