The Comox Valley RCMP is proud to announce that Constable Keeley Deley will be the local rider participating in the 2024 Cops for Cancer Tour.

Keeley will join local police agencies and emergency service personnel in cycling 1200km from one end of Vancouver Island to the other, raising awareness and funds for children and families affected by cancer.

"I am honored to represent the amazing people of the Comox Valley and all those who support this crucial cause," said Cst. Deley. "My goal is to reach as many people as possible in this journey of raising funds for children affected by cancer."

The funds raised from this event will support the Canadian Cancer Society in its mission to fuel new pediatric cancer research discoveries. Additionally, the donations will help send 600 kids to Camp Goodtimes every year, a medically-supervised recreation experience for children and teens affected by cancer and their families.

Support Keeley's Journey

The Comox Valley community is encouraged to support Keeley in reaching her fundraising goal. Your support will make a significant impact in the lives of children and families facing cancer.

"One child with cancer is one child too many," Keeley emphasized. "To take on cancer, it takes every one of us."

If you are a local business wanting to raise money, or donate, please contact Cst. Deley directly at the Comox Valley RCMP Detachment.

We’d like to thank all of the schools and businesses already busy raising money for Cops for Cancer here in the Comox Valley – we look forward to sharing the tour with you in September!

Important Dates

There are some important dates to mark on your calendar for Cops for Cancer, Tour de Rock!

On July 9, 2024 the Tour de Rock team went to Camp Goodtimes for the day. This allowed riders to see where their fundraising dollars go, first hand. They met with children and their families who are affected by cancer.

On July 14th, 2024 the Tour de Rock team took on Mt. Washington in what is known to be one of the most challenging training rides of the season.

In August, the Tour de Rock team will be doing their longest ride, to Jordan River.

Every Sunday, Tuesday, and Thursday, Keeley is training for the tour – if you see her out riding, don’t hesitate to show your support!

The Tour de Rock starts in Port Alice on September 21st, 2024 and concludes in Victoria on October 4, 2024.

The riders will be in the Comox Valley on September 25, 2024.
