File # 2024-6420

On the evening of June 5, a female reported that she had been assaulted and robbed by a male inside a residence in the 34000 block of Ferndale Avenue. Investigators met with the victim, and identified that there was key evidence still inside the house where the assault had occurred. A Search Warrant was granted, and due to the potential risks to officer safety, the Emergency Response Team (ERT) attended to assist with entry into the residence on June 7. Several people exited the house cooperatively, however ERT had to make entry into the house to try to locate the offender. He was eventually located hiding in the attic, and was arrested without further incident. The man was arrested for numerous offences relating to the assault, and also had multiple outstanding arrest warrants.

Mission RCMP remained on scene throughout the day on June 8 gathering additional evidence, which included firearms and a considerable quantity of drugs. The 43-year-old man from Mission, who has a criminal record, as well as other outstanding charges, has been remanded in custody. There is no indication of any risk to the general public, and police are no longer on scene at the property.
