Man found guilty of Sexual assault in Lynn Valley trail incident

North Vancouver RCMP are updating the public in the investigation of a sexual assault on a Lynn Valley trail that occurred on February 13th, 2022. Following a March 12th, 2022 press release, a tip from a member of the public led to the arrest of Jairus-Paul Covacha Sacramento in Abbotsford, BC.

On June 9th, 2023, Sacramento, a resident of Mission BC, was found guilty on one count of Sexual Assault following a North Vancouver Provincial Court trial. He will be sentenced at a later date.

This was a traumatizing incident for the victim, and impacted the community’s sense of safety said Cst. Mansoor Sahak, Media Relations Officer for the North Vancouver RCMP. We are grateful to the public for helping bring this case to a resolution, and reaffirm our commitment to keep this community safe from those who seek to victimize others.
